Founding Principles

In 1970, Paul Caruso, Sr. moved to this community and established the First Security Bank of Helena as a family owned and managed bank. He believed that the key to creating a bank that truly supported its community was to have staff who personally addressed the unique needs of each customer.  Not only did staff know customers, accounts, loans and businesses, Paul made sure that he was also available for any customer to speak with personally.  

Many things have changed, but President and CEO Loren Brown keeps the focus of First Security Bank true to its customers and their personal banking experience.  Old relationships are valued, new customers are nurtured, and improved or new products are offered.  Customers have access to larger loans and longer maturity terms.  We also offer enhanced deposit products including health savings accounts and instant issue debit cards. You’ll see more ATM machines around town. If you don’t want to leave home or if you love to travel, a mobile banking app and on-line bill pay make banking possible with just a click of a button.
